There are great movies which make billions of the silver screen, and there are bad movies that make its producers bankrupt. A movie can either make or break a bank account. It can be the talk of the town, or it can be relegated to the shelves to rot in infamy. Here are the worst movies of all time, according to all the lists made in the Internet and the newspapers:
- Glitter - It goes without saying, not all “Glitter” is gold. This 2001 movie stars singer Mariah Carey, who played the role of Billie, a struggling singer during the 1980’s. Directed by Vondie Curtis-Hall, this $22 million dollar film only made $5,271,666 around the globe.
- Gigli - This 2003 movie starred then-engaged couple Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. The movie revolves around Gigli (Affleck), a hit man, and Lopez, who plays a lesbian assassin. Hijinks ensue as the uncanny couple fall in love. It only made $6,068,735, way beyond its $54 million budget.
- Super Babies: Baby Geniuses 2 - This movie was released in 2004. It’s all about genius babies who try to find their way out a media mogul’s desire to decipher baby talk. It earned a disappointing $3,251,856 at the box office.
- Batman & Robin - This movie about the caped crusader was released in 1997 and starred big names such as George Clooney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Nicole Kidman. It earned 5 million dollars above its budget of $125 million, yet most Batman fans deem it as one of the worst Batman films of all time.
- From Justin To Kelly - This 2003 movie starred the first-runner up and champion of the 1st season of American Idol, Justin Guarini and Kelly Clarkson. It talks about a lonely man and a depressed woman who meet each other in a camp. The movie’s budget is $12 million, and it earned a measly $4,922,166.
- Catwoman - This movie, which was released in 2004, starred Oscar winner Halle Berry and was directed by Pitof. She starred alongside acclaimed actress Sharon Stone, but the movie, which had a budget of $100 million, only raked in a disappointing $82,102,379.
- Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 - This 2000 movie chronicled what could be the life 1000 years into the future. It starred topnotch actors John Travolta and Forest Whitaker but it only made $21,471,685, more than $20 million shy of its $44 million budget.
- The Room - This movie was directed, written, and starred by Tommy Wisseau. The 2003, rated-R movie talks about a banker who is betrayed by his friends.
- Twilight - This is the first installment of the Twilight series. Launched in 2008, it starred Kristen Stewart (Bella) and Robert Pattinson (Edward), a mortal and a vampire who fall in love. It made a lot in the big screen but many deem it as one of the worst movies of all time.
- The Final Sacrifice - Also known as “Quest for the Lost City,” this 1990 Canadian movie stars Troy and Rowsdower who look for the “Ziox” before it could be used for world domination.
